Humanitarian Support of HOPE'87 Bangladesh for the victims of Savar Rana Plaza Building Collapse Tragedy:
A number of people have lost their hand and leg in the incident of Savar Rana Plaza Tragedy on 24th April, 2013. HOPE'87 Bangladesh has taken initiatives to provide financial assistance to 6 injured Garments workers with the support of Foundation for UNESCO - 'Education for Children in Need'. As a Part of this program, HOPE'87 Bangladesh has recently provided a high technology operational hand to Runa Akhtar & a high technology operational leg to Roksana. Besides, a rickshaw Van has been provided to Sheuli Akhtar as an income generating source.

Runa Akhtar is an 18 years old Garment worker who worked at 7th floor of Rana Plaza, Savar. She lost her left hand from elbow in the event of Rana Plaza Collapse. HOPE' 87 Bangladesh make the arrangements for replacement of "High Technology above Elbow Prosthesis" made by Endolit UK for Runa on 25th August, 2013 which is capable to move elbow, wrist and three fingers. In her family she has mother and a younger brother. Such kind of high technology supported operational hand will partially enable her to perform regular activities and to lead a healthy life.
Roksana is a 20 years old Garment worker who worked at 7th floor of Rana Plaza, Savar. She lost her right leg from below knee in Rana Plaza Collapse. HOPE' 87 Bangladesh make the arrangements for replacement of "High technology Multi-flex ankle below Knee Prosthesis" made by Endolit UK  for Roksana on 16th June, 2013 which will work as natural motion with leg movement. She lives at Mujidpur, Savar. Her husband Mr. Tofazzal is a VAN Driver and they have adopted a girl.
Sheuli Akhtar is also a garment worker. Her back was broken on April 24 in the Rana Plaza Disaster at Savar. She underwent treatment at a clinic in Genda, Savar.
